In Pro Tools 11.0.2, when using the transport forward locate command, or locating in the timeline to a point that is ahead of the current position, on entering Play at the new position, the Midi Time Code generator outputs all the quarter frame time code messages between the original timecode and the current timecode position in a high speed burst before returning to generating quarter frame messages at the correct speed. Duality and AWS will attempt to update the timecode display when the burst is received but, depending the amount of data, may fail to return the hand shake Note On message on the main HUI ports, causing Pro Tools to display the HUI communication error pop up.
Additionally the Play tally remains off until the high speed timecode burst has finished.
Pro Tools 11 update 11.1.1 fixes the issue. This was released at the end of 2013.
