Which Logic settings will allow the AWS to display SMPTE and Bars/Beats correctly?
Due to the MCU protocol supporting 10 characters for the display of SMPTE addresses and bars/beats, the following settings in Logic are recommended:
Logic > Preferences > Display > General
- Display SMPTE should be set to Without Bits.
- Clock Format should be set to 220.127.116.11.
Because only 10 characters are supported, the following may be observed and is not indicative of a fault with the AWS:
- If Clock Format is set to display quarter frames (which requires the use of an extra character) the colon between the hours and minutes fields is omitted. So a SMPTE address of 59:01:45:25 would be displayed as 5901:45:25/1. The quarter frame is indicated by displaying 0, 1, 2 or 3 at the end of the SMPTE address.
- When the time display is set to bars/beats, the maximum bar count that can be displayed is 999 (bar 1003 would be displayed as '003').
