The cue stereo section is an independent mix bus, and is found on many SSL mixing consoles.
It has at least three main functions:
- A separate stereo mix, for example to provide a headphone mix for artists different from the main mix.
- Stereo FX send.
- A pathway for more inputs to the main mix bus:
- Pressing the ALT button assigns the alt input to the cue send, instead of the normal channel input.
- Pressing Cue to Mix in the centre section adds these signals to the main mix bus thus providing 16 inputs at mixdown; twice as many inputs as faders!
