Nucleus has two areas of compatibility: audio interface and DAW controller. See below:
The Nucleus1 USB audio interface is compatible with the following OS:
- Windows 10, 7, Vista, and XP
- macOS 10.5.8 Leopard
- macOS 10.6 Snow Leopard
- macOS 10.7 Lion
- macOS 10.8 Mountain Lion
- macOS 10.9 Mavericks
- macOS 10.10 Yosemite has limited compatibility depending on your chipset. Haswell-based computers, regardless of OS, are not compatible with the Nucleus USB audio interface. Haswell made changes to USB3 which unfortunately affected the USB audio interface. The Nucleus SPDIF and analog IO can still be used, but you may need to run the SSL soundcard app on a compatible machine to set up the IO routing. Once the routing is set up, it will stay that way.
- USB is not compatible with OS higher than 10.10.
The Nucleus1 DAW control* is compatible with nearly all OS. DAW control, being TCP/IP, is generally not affected by OS.
- Windows 10, 7, Vista, and XP
- macOS 10.5.8 through macOS 10.15 Catalina
*DAW control includes the USB keyboard commands. These are unaffected by the USB audio interface issues mentioned above.
Nucleus 1 is compatible with the 1.6/2 Nucleus software.
